The Procurement Team in "M" Far East Asia Liner Operations is looking for a Procurement Manager responsible for "M" and its intra-brands’ spend in Intermodal and Logistics business in Japan.
The position will be responsible for procurement and contract management activities covering Japan, reporting to the Head of Inland Procurement in "M" Far East Asia Operations Cluster in Shanghai.

Managing complex procurement projects for logistics solution, supply chain management,
intermodal, equipment and maintenance & repair (EMR) across a wide range of
procurement areas including responsibility for the strategic suppliers within the category.
Projects will be primarily in Japan, but being part of a regional procurement setup, there will
also be opportunities to work on other projects in Far East Asia.
According to authority level, managing and participating in negotiations and establishment of
Service Level Agreements between "M" operations function and its suppliers.
Cooperating closely with colleagues and stakeholders in "M" operation in Japan, working very closely with the country organisation to ensure alignment between costs, commercial needs and operational execution.
Engaging with the procurement stakeholders in "M" regional office in Shanghai.
Being accountable for integrating Contract Management frameworks to help ensure cost
leadership, compliance and best in class supplier performance.
Performing supplier market analysis and organising market intelligence for spend within
"M" Japan operations, and benchmarking "M" cost competition and ensuring cost leadership.
An ability to solve complex challenges through analysis and based on accurate identification
of underlying factors/ causes and are aware of the impact of proposed solutions outside
their own immediate area.
Being part of "M" fast growth of Logistics & Service business in Japan market.
We are looking for
The candidate shall have a good understanding of the business drivers of "M"
operation, and is able to build a strategy within key spend categories (Barge, Trucking,
EMR, Depot, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Customs Broking and Cold Chain etc.) to drive
down cost and improve efficiencies in collaboration with our suppliers.
The candidate should have experience with container transportation / operations, logistics
and procurement, and should be able to apply procurement tools to drive cost initiatives.
Due to the complexity and nature of the responsibility, it is necessary to possess three or
more years of experience within procurement, sourcing and negotiations. The individual we
are looking for must have strong communication, networking and interpersonal skills through
which she or he can use to engage with a broad range of stakeholders both internally and
externally. Industry experience is preferred.
