Purpose of Function

The position acts as a key position in the finance function to influence business performance by supporting business and other functions. The scope includes periodic reporting and budget planning in a timely manner with tight deadlines, while developing meaningful reports to monitor business performance effectively. The position also ensures accurate accounting records in order to reflect business performance in accordance with IFRS liaising with the operational teams.  It is required to understand SAP modules / transactions in depth, and good PC skills. Willingness to learn new systems implemented by Global Shared Service is necessary, as well as capability to understand / support business needs of other functions.  

Tasks and Responsibilities

Budgeting and Planning 

  • Lead periodic budgeting and planning to make realistic forecast liaising with Sales and Marketing teams. 

Monthly / Yearly closing

  • Proactively monitor accounting records for Business units and Cost centers in accordance with IFRS and internal control processes, by ensuring SAP transactions liaising General Accounting manager and operational teams.   

Reporting

  • Develop meaningful reports to monitor business performance, where necessary, liaising with other business functions. 
  • Ensure timely reporting and communicate to business owners. 
  • Improve efficiency of report creation utilizing SAP BI system and Microsoft applications

Finance analysis / forecast

  • Own Profit and Loss statement and ensure accruals and provisions by understanding risk to finance statements and business performance. 
  • Analyze business performance where appropriate. 
  • Lead ad-hoc BI projects liaising with IT team and other business functions.  

Additional Roles

  • Support SAP upgrade or new system implementation when necessary. 

 

 

Position Requirements

Education

University bachelor’s degree. 

Related Experience  

3 - 5 years of relevant experience in Finance reporting and analysis as well as working experience in General accounting.  

Skills, Special Competencies, or Certifications

  • Good understanding of accounting operational practices in accordance with IFRS. 
  • Excellent skill and knowledge in Excel and Microsoft applications. (Macro, VBA not required.) 
  • ERP experience (SAP knowledge is plus)
  • Good communication skill
  • Willingness to support other functions. 
  • Capability to communicate in English.
