Responsibility for all the processes of logistics, order management, in-bound and out-bound shipments, warehousing and inventory management for the Japan region. Working with the corporate office and the all Supply Chain team to ensure that the appropriate logistics service levels across the various distribution channels in the region are properly delivered, in respect of cost budgets for both warehouse and freight.


 Bachelor degree or higher in one or more of the following: Supply Chain Management, Logistics Planning, or similar

 5+ years of experience in the supply chain for a fast-paced, sizable company

 Ability to build effective and influential relationships in a cross-functional and international team environment

 Proven track record of complex problem solving and pro-active process improvement

 Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, commercial & organizational skills

 A collaborative partner and an effective communicator who is highly attuned to achieve commercial wins underpinned by operational planning skills

 Sound experience in 3PL warehousing management and performance evaluation.

 Experience with Cegid and NetSuite (or similar ERP) an advantage


Inventory management

 Ensure that new business, promotions and product launches are adequately rolled out in respect of inventory.

 If required assist to monitor aged stock in all warehouses and fulfillment centers, and action

 Drive and oversee the end of month reconciliations of stock on hand and adjustments of inventory held at warehouse, office and retail stores to ensure ongoing inventory accuracy

 Oversee regular stock takes and related procedures at regional warehouses and head office

 Ensure appropriate and correct inventory allocation across channels is executed 



 Relationship management of all regional logistics providers.

 Where appropriate, review, recommend and drive a competitive tendering process to ensure the best partners are secured for Japan, working in conjunction with Head Office Logistics and Distribution team

 Align warehouse & transportation network to support business growth and market requirements

 Monitor the performance of all 3PL warehouses and other logistics providers, ensuring they are aware of deadlines, priorities and special instructions, collecting monthly KPI data, attending regular site visits and governance meetings.

 Address performance or operational issues with providers, including freight delays, as required.

 Manage logistics costs and negotiate favourable rates and terms with providers.

 Review & design optimal logistics network to ensure high service and efficiency is delivered

 Ensure compliance with local and international dangerous goods packing and transport regulations.

 Audit and approve all logistics and freight invoices pertaining to the region.

 Manage Japan’s Logistics team to o Manage the importation and orchestrate quality control process (inspection, over the label, etc)

o Ensure all orders are processed accurately and efficiently, and according to contractual terms

o Oversee the warehousing and distribution of orders to retail, wholesale, department stores and amenities customers.

o Develop kitting process and follow up associated cost quotation with 3PL basing on business need

o Oversee the fulfilment and distribution of e-commerce channels, ensuring service expectations are met with regular provision of future volume projection

o Oversee all the in-house and 3PL e-commerce fulfilment centres and delivery service providers

o Monitor the local packaging/indirect material procurement if applied

o Provide regular and clear communications relating to stock levels and delivery dates, ensuring that freight is tracked and relevant parties advised of any delays.

o Communicate with the warehouse regarding order allocations, priorities and special instructions.

 Drive and oversee the end of month reconciliations of stock on hand and adjustments of inventory held at warehouses, digital fulfilment centres, and retail stores to ensure ongoing inventory accuracy.

 Provide assistance to Logistics team members on day-to-day tasks as required

 Provide input/support (as needed) on the IT integration with the 3PL and follow up on the system troubleshooting process

 Provide training and support to other relevant staff (as required). Supply Chain Improvement and operations planning

 As needed, complete assessment of Japan supply chain needs including 3PL, logistics providers and solutions and eCommerce fulfilment. Where needed, ensure changes and projects are managed appropriately to ensure an optimized outcome, on time and budget.

 Ensure that all key processes are followed that maximizes the use of ERP system (Netsuite)

 Advise and recommend any IT improvements required in Netsuite to improve productivity in the region

 Advise and recommend appropriate system integration with service providers that improve the management of inventory, including reporting, batch tracking, and cost.

 Recommend and implement appropriate process improvements or implement new processes as needed.

 Drive cross-functional strategic projects to support Japan’s growth aspirations

 Support continuous improvement programs to drive improvements in the network operational planning process ensuring continuity of service of the DCs

 Support educational programs of business competencies through best practice sharing

 Be a positive team player with head office and overseas regional teams in support of the process review in order to establish best practice in logistics activities

 When required, according to projects roll out, support the regional logistics team for the roll out, implementation, maintenance, of the batch tracking systems across subsidiaries

 Assist the development of right communication channels between regional providers and related logistics team (i.e.: what data to be communicated, in which format, how often, which ongoing conversations with 3PL providers should happen. etc...) to share best practice

 When required, according to projects roll out, support the training of the regional logistics team to ensure the correct EOM inventory reconciliation practice is implemented

 Proactively encourage and undertake the technical know-how reciprocal sharing within the logistics team

 Deliver projects targets as required in a timely manner Employee Development

 Manage, coordinate and review direct reports performance to ensure that all responsibilities are completed effectively, accurately, on time and in accordance with documented company procedures and statutory requirements.

 Actively assist, develop and educate direct reports to ensure their continued growth and development

 Pro-actively facilitate communication within Supply Chain team and other functions  Assist logistics team to sustain business as usual as required
