One of the leading US pharmaceutical companies in Tokyo is looking for FP&A Manager!

 

Title : Oncology FP&A Lead

Reports to : Head of FP&A (interim: Head of Finance)

Manages : 1 staff

 

Act as a leader

  • High standards of integrity, business ethics and compliance with SOX, Corporate Policies and local laws

  • Actively seeks and embraces opportunities to enhance productivity, results and service level

  • Leads the Oncology FP&A function partnering with Commercial/Other teams to provide timely decision support analysis and assist in influencing business decisions

  • Partners closely with alliance management on governing and influencing alliance partnership related to near-term and strategic efforts

  • Engages in activities for self-development; engages, energizes and develops team members

  • Enable the Oncology team’s objectives through understanding the Oncology market, business, and strategic imperatives

  • Serve as a business partner to the Oncology business unit, which includes being an active member on Oncology leadership meetings, collaborating/co-leading BU projects, and supporting Oncology strategy

Deliverables

  • Insightful analysis of business performance, resource allocation and profit planning

  • Partnership with the Commercial teams to provide overall brand support and support business decisions

  • Anticipation of risks and opportunities and proposal for timely remediation

  • Monthly closing processes and management of financial reporting accurately and in a timely manner

  • Ambitious and realistic financial planning processes (budget and projections)

  • Enhancement of awareness and adherence to local procedures (SOPs) and corporate policies

  • Identification and implementation of innovative process improvements

  • Adherence to corporate Global pricing guidelines

  • Support to Internal Audits as needed

Background and skills required

  • Minimum of 10 years work experience in Finance with part/all of that experience in Financial Planning (required)

  • Experience managing a team (required)

  • Experience with Pharma industry (required)

  • Experience with Oncology market (highly preferred)

  • Experience working in a Multi-National company (preferred)

  • Written and oral presentation skills - fluent in both Japan and English (required)

  • Qualification in the “Areas of Competence” listed above (Highly preferred)

  • Degree in accounting, economics or business related career (required)

  • Proven track record in financial planning and analysis (or equivalent) and in leadership positions (highly preferred)

  • Good command of accounting and understanding of internal controls (required)

  • MBA/CPA (or equivalent), internal/external audit, USGAAP/IFRS and SAP knowledge are a plus (required)

  • Strong power point and excel skills (highly preferred)
