Seafreight Pricing Manager

Job description:

This role is responsible for setting margins for pricing requests. Regional market levels, industry specifics, customer requirements as well as customers' price sensitivity are to be taken under consideration. Those local conditions have to be traded off against procurement levels and the national pricing policy to ensure a profitable gross yield is maintained. The pricing manager has to ensure the execution of the pricing policy in his/her field of responsibility. Ideally the role is staffed by a generalist for all relevant trades. First-hand market feedback has to be obtained, especially in form of a consequent follow-up approach on offer level.

Your tasks and responsibilities :

To closely cooperation and regular exchange with the Head of Pricing and all other pricing managers to facilitate timely request handling on a marketable rate level.

To set selling prices in form of a price band with upper and lower limits in line with local conditions and the pricing policy.

To be responsible to always have full transparency on current freight rate levels (buying and selling) and to constantly share this knowledge with local customer service/sales.

To support and exchange with local sales and customer service (business owners) to successfully gain new, retain and further develop existing sea freight accounts.

To find mutual solutions for profit maximization.

To get involved and assist business owner in RFQs for non-standard requests.

To collect, consolidate and document first-hand customer feedback from the business owner (follow-up and general feedback).

To drive Data management for the pricing systems and data bases employed.

Your skills and experience :

Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Freight Forwarding with Degree Qualifications preferred

Minimum 3 years of Sea logistics experience, within the Freight Forwarding/Transportation industry

High knowledge of freight forwarding, operations and import-export regulations

Good knowledge of the market and Carriers' relationship

Ability to read, write and converse in Japanese and English fluently
