About this role and Key objectives

Entities covered Japan/India/China (Australia/Singapore at a later date)

  • Manage transactional day to day finance tasks of the local finance functions to include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash etc
  • Preparation and review of month end, quarter end and year end close process of several APAC entities in line with group reporting procedures
  • Review the accounts and finance functions of multiple APAC entities
  • Manage operating cash flows and prepare cash forecast, budgeting & forecasting
  • Ensure payroll processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Knowledge and preparation of GST returns, Corporate tax planning and compliance, withholding tax, local transfer pricing documentation requirements
  • Demonstrate competency in complex accounting issues and ensure compliance to accounting standards, GST regulations and Group internal control procedures, other relevant rules and regulations
  • Assist in system implementation and enhancement, including improve workflows and processes based on best practices and automation
  • Implement Internal Controls to include Expense policy authorisation and Purchasing Policy implementation
  • Work closely with local tax advisors and group auditors
  • Work closely with finance professionals in other regions
  • Assist local leadership on finance related matters
  • Providing mentorship to junior finance member in the group and guide them in the finance leadership track and goal setting process

Required Qualifications

  • Accounting or Business degree (ACCA, CPA, ACA, etc.) or a comparable level achieved through exposure and experience
  • At least 3-5 years relevant working experience at a mid-senior level
  • Previous experience working in a multinational organization managing multiple entities
  • Experience in transfer pricing and complex intercompany transactions essential
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and strong analytical skills to look after complex transactions
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting and cost control principles
  • Experience with Microsoft Navision
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to think strategically, manage risk, and align future direction with priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with senior management
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Excellent English and Japanese written and verbal communication skills
