Transportation Specialist

The Transportation Specialist will be responsible for the coordination of air, ocean, land transportation services for materials and goods. The goal is to ensure goods and materials are at the right place at the right time.


Main Tasks

  • Handling of all inbound & outbound logistics together with all internal & external stakeholdrs (Order process, carriers & 3PL)

  • Preparing import documents for custom clearance

  • Apply for import approval as per customs/ inspection bureau regulation, in alignment with Trade Compliance department, Application Specialist & Product Management

  • Cooperation with finance dept. for payment to customs/vendors, support for budgeting process

  • Communicating with 3PL warehouse for incoming and outgoing deliveries (no daily operations) & monitoring warehousing KPI´s

  • Support on the physical inventory check

  • Invoice validation for transportation services

  • Handling of return/repair shipment to vendors

  • Physical reporting and investigation on transportation damages, discrepancies and shortages, in alignment with Purchasing & Customer service (OP_198)

  • Relationship management with local service providers & conducting regular KPI review meetings, taking relevant counter-measures in case of necessity

  • Project management internal / external (e.g. acquisition, new product launch)

  • Support on dangerous goods cargo handling, in alignment with Product management & EHS department


  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Freight Forwarding / Logistics

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a distribution/ logistics environment or equivalent experience

  • Good working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred), MS Office and Outlook

  • Ability to demonstrate strong & professional interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to maintain attention to details and excellent organizational skills

  • Demonstrate strong analytical & problem solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions within a team based environment

  • Japanese language native level (orally & written)

  • Good English language skills (orally & written in business level)

  • Expertise in Customs & Trade compliance topics ( e.g. application for import license)

  • Expertise in handling of hazardous/dangerous substances
