Job Title: Assistant Manager/Manager, Marketing Communication

Overview:
Assists in the Japan-centric execution of the brand' overall Advertising and PR marketing plan including digital and research activities.. Acts as steward of the brand to support our brand promise, vision, position, and overall business goals.
This position is also responsible for SS/FW trade show and act activities of sales promotions in accordance with the product category team and brand guidelines in order to enhance and accelerate the sell-in/out strategies

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day execution of the brand Japan's PR strategy and marketing initiatives, including but not limited to:

  • PR: Leads ongoing efforts to gain internal and external exposure for key brand initiatives, including but not limited to: authoring and submitting relevant press releases to key media outlets, insertion orders inside trade publications' buyer's guides, and via website ratings, social media monitoring and other consumer-engagement vehicles.
  • Agency Liaison: Serves as the primary day-to-day contact with all relevant agency partners.
    -Trademarks and Legal: Serves as the primary contact with Newell (In-house) Legal for the search, implementation and protection of all Rawlings Japan trademarks.
  • Copywriting: Acts as the de facto copywriter for all brand marketing communications, including but not limited to copy development for: advertisements, catalogs, packaging and websites.
  • Website Strategy and Coordination: Executes all digital-centric marketing strategies for the Japanese version of the brand, and functions as the primary responder to all applicable social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc.).
  • Market Share Analysis: Updates the Japan team (marketing, sales, product development, etc.) on market share performance among all relevant product categories, as well as trends in participation data by sport and overall marketing trends in the industry.
  • Industry Analysis: Studies current trends in the industry and translates secondary data into immediate and long-term marketing action.
  • P&L: Assists with the creation and management of Japan's marketing budget and promotional resources while managing the annual P&L for select budget allocations.
  • Digital Analytics: Leads and tracks continuous in-depth analytics and communication of Japan's website and social media marketing platforms' statistics, including but not limited to: site visits, page views, unique visitors, overall site performance, consumer demographics and navigation trends.
  • Website Management: Updates Japan's website and social media marketing platforms as new products and/or promotional campaigns launch; including but not limited to: working with creative department and any applicable outside agency partner(s) to ensure all visual needs are met, and the product team to write all necessary product specifications and all marketing copy.
  • Plan and execute new product trade shows twice a year including production of Annual catalogue & Trade show catalogue & also all catalogue
  • Plan and the execute with the Brand marketing and Communication marketing team to build sales promotions plan
  • Plan and the execute with the Product category team to build sales promotions plan
  • Collaborates and support with the Sports Marketing team to help their execution activity.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field required.
  • Prefer 4-6 years work/internship experience managing multiple, simultaneous marketing projects at an agency or brand marketing department. Merchandising project management preferred.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications - Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Exceptionally strong writing, analytical, communications and organizational skills. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment working on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to speak English strongly desired.
  • Ability to manage a marketing project from inception through execution.
  • Ability to take direction or work autonomously when needed.
  • Experience tracking budgets and/or basic financial analysis of marketing programs preferred.
  • Must be passionate for both the consumer and sports.
  • Knowledge of core marketing skill and baseball background.
  • Exceptionally strong writing, analytical, communications and organizational skills. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment working on multiple projects at the same time.
