Overall job purpose:

Our client is for an HR Business Partner (HRBP) to manage our Tokyo office.

The successful applicant will be communicative and curious, open-minded and pro-active. You lead by example and plainly solve conflicts and find compromises. You possess both excellent analytical skills and restless creative mind, and you always eager to learn. Our ideal HR Business Partner, we need you!

 Responsibilities.

A. Supports the business in all HR topics & functions as the country HRBP for Japan

  • Anticipate and plan for short-term and long-term human resource needs and trends from talent development, employee engagement, compensation and benefits perspective in partnership with business.
  • Identify and  explain the overall HR strategy and proposals for management team to make the right decision from HR’s perspective.
  • Analyze and investigate the needs locally to support the business development.
  • Continuously optimize the HR operations, and ensure practices and policies are in place that fully supported the local legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Be familiar with Japan’s labor law, regulation and policies to provide the professional, competitive and practical HR solution for management team.
  • Set up the appropriate HR system for compensation and benefits  in accordance with  local market from the survey and investigation.
  • Create and maintain HR policies that are aligned to global standards but tailored to Japan.
  • Support and drive staff relocation into and from Japan.
  • Review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee perceiving  in order to recommend systemic improvements.

 

B. Develop and implement the talent acquisition strategy to support the new business organization

      Vacancy Fulfillment

  • Fully responsible for the recruitment process of vacancies fulfillment across the whole cycle.
  • Manpower planning, HC forecast & control to manage the cost effectively.
  • Provide the right recruitment solutions for the business to achieve the recruitment goals.

      

    Sourcing channels development

  • Responsible for identifying qualified vendors, monitoring and motivating vendors’ performance and building up sustainable partnerships.
  • Explore effective recruitment channels, and perform job portal management via various channels, like job boards, job fairs and recruitment firms.
  • Maintain and improve the effectiveness of the recruitment ATS (Application Tracking System).
  • Familiar with local recruitment channels and keep the strategical relationship with local vendors.
  • Utilize LinkedIn, lINE, Facebook,Whatsapp… such kinds of social media for recruitment.
  • Work with RPO or off-shoring recruitment service firms to support the business as needed.

Process management & implementation

  • Strive to shorten hiring leading time, improve job-person match, reduce recruitment cost per hire and approach  high quality candidates.
  • Design and deliver interview skill training for hiring managers to improve hiring quality as needed.
  • Optimize the recruitment process, standardize recruitment tools and drive for changes across business activities.

 

    Internal client relationship management

  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g. Account Managers, Respurce Managers, Delivery Managers, etc.) with proactive communication and strong customer service.
  • Understand how recruitment plan aligns with business strategy and maximize impact by highly involved in business.
  • Record recruitment data, conduct data analysis and provide reports to stakeholders as required.
  • Proactively communicate with internal stakeholders to understand business’ ever-changing needs, benchmark industry’s best practices, identify areas for improvement, propose solutions.

       Employer branding and engagement management.

  • Play a key role in employer branding and EVP (Employer Value Proposition) projects with creative thinking and getting support from key business stakeholders
  • Managing hiring and building brand effectively through social media platforms like LinkedIn and WeChat
  • Enhance the internal and external referral program in order to promote EVP and reduce the use of search firms
  • Organize campus recruitment campaign annually, exploring different means to set up strategic partnerships with targeted universities.

 

 C.Leadership and Team Management

  • Assist in motivating, encouraging, leveraging and engaging the team towards the next level of excellence.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability in leading the team, developing team members and retaining the core members.
  • Manage daily HR related operational issues with a professional, objective attitude without bias.
  • Manpower planning, HC forecast & control to manage the cost effectively.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a well-known university, major in HR, Psychology or Business Administration is preferred, MBA is advantageous, if  understand or have a background in IT/technology will be also the plus.
  • Above 10 years’ progressive experience in Human Resources and minimum 5 years for recruitment.
  • Exposure within the APAC region is definitely an advantage.

  • A quick learner with proactive thinking, self-motivated, optimistic, and collaborative attitude
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and native Japanese.
  • Other knowledge and skillsets on social media recruitment, assessment tools, psychometric tests, career counseling, strategic enough to manage issue from board vision and tolerate with hands-on plus repetitive work will lead you to success in this role
