Job Description

This is a rare opportunity to become the Japan Country Manager for a leading global company with a range of household-name brands, with divisions covering both B2B and B2C. You will be leading over 900 staff based throughout Japan, and be reporting directly to regional HQ. This role is responsible for:
  • Overseeing all Japan operations for this top-name brand, both in B2C and B2B divisions with full P/L responsibility
  • Being a leader for the company and demonstrating a strong vision for the company's future in Japan
  • Collaborating with regional and global teams to develop company strategy across all functions (sales channel development, marketing campaigns, operations optimisation, team-building, business development, etc)
  • Leading team in development of market strategy in Japan to maximise growth and taking advantage of win-win opportunities with business partners in the market
  • Guiding and approving analysis, development and execution of new strategies to grow market share in Japan
  • Being an ambassador for the company to grow both existing and new business partnerships 
  • Overseeing financial, supply-chain and HR operations to maintain efficient company activity
  • Managing and motivating multiple division directors to ensure the company as a whole is running smoothly
Necessary Skills:
  • Native-level Japanese / Business-level English
  • Bachelors degree (MBA or other masters degree preferred)
  • 8+ years experience in an international company 
  • People management experience
  • Experience working as a Country Manager / General Manager / CEO / Vice-President / Sales Director / Marketing Director in Japan
  • Strong leader with experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Logical thinking
  • Understanding of omni-channel sales and marketing strategies, with a familiarity of online and direct-to-consumer channels
  • Business-planning experience
