Job Description

This is an exciting position to work on a growing HR team where the company is reinventing and expanding it's already dominant footprint in Japan. The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of HR and a strategic mindset.

1)  Contributes to HR Strategies and policies development
*Translates and aligns all people and organizational aspects of the overall business strategy to local and functional HR plans
*Gives input to support the development of appropriate HR Strategies based on the business requirements from the market

2) Deploys HR products and services
*Adapts and aligns the available service portfolio to local requirements and business needs and coordinates the solution delivery (internal or external)
*Measures effectiveness of deployed HR products and services

3)  Plays a change agent role
Serves as change enabler, by providing pro-active support for the market to successfully plan and implement business transformations or other strategic organizational change programs

4) Acts as an internal consultant
*Anticipates, understands business demands, analyzes and diagnoses the request and propose and coordinate the solution delivery (internal or external)
*Provides advice, consulting, coaching on all business matters having an organizational or human capital management aspect

5.)Manages employee and labor relations to maintain an optimal relationship

Major Tasks

1) Strategy and direction
2) Source and select:
-Supports and counsels management in identifying staffing requirements and how to meet these demands
-Provides feedback on recruitment process to Center of Excellence
-Participates in the interviews with the line managers relating to positions having strategic importance

3) Develop and Counsel
-Evaluates and reviews employee performance and development programs.
-Facilitates and supports review of talent management

4.)Labor relations:
-Local HRBP will manage and be accountable for labor relations in their respective market.
-Supports managers in handling conflicts or difficult employee relations situations

5.)Workforce planning
-Supports management in identifying local resource needs and provides input into planning
-Provides advice and counsel on workforce requirements / conducts negotiations

-Supports Line managers in developing business case for redeployment, expat/transfer

7.)Reward and retain:
-Provides insights to local employment market and identifies local needs eg adaptations to salary and benefits process, structure, value offering
-Reviews local policies and manages local approval process. Checks rationale and legal constraints, reviews package and approve proposals

-University or College Graduate
-MBA is an advantage
-7-10 + years experience as an HRBP and HR Specialist
-Cross functional experience and / or general business management experience
-Generalist HR knowledge (processes, policies etc)
-Extensive knowledge of market specific HRM practice and legislation
-Demonstrated knowledge change management tools and techniques
-Organizational design skills
-Strategic planning skills
-Professional written and oral communication skills in English and Japanese
-Advanced PC skills
