The Company

This company is a baking specialist with a leading position in the global market. Our business focuses on the manufacture, distribution and sale of frozen bakery goods to well known brands.

With more than 20 years of experience in Japan, they serve our their products all over Japan. They are always striving to bring the best frozen bakery solutions to our customers in Japan.

The Role

In the Tokyo office, HR support is currently handled by the Head of Finance and his team. As the group has launched a new global HR initiative, the need to separate the two services and recruit an experienced HR person to shape this exciting times together with our colleagues overseas has come.   

This role will have two functions, HR and supporting the Managing Director of Japan.

HR:
-    HR Initiatives: Adapt and deliver global HR programs and initiatives to meet the needs and culture of the company (eg Core Value Concept). 
-    Recruiting: Collaborate with location managers to ensure the location's talent and HR needs are met. Identifies candidates for replacement and new roles, manages the hiring process. 
-    Performance Assessment Process: Guidance and monitoring of yearly performance assessment process for the local team.
-    Incentive Calculation: Controls and reports monthly sales incentive calculation based on sales performance.
-    Talent Development: Support line managers in developing each member’s personal talents and career development.

Assisting the MD:
-    Organization Meeting: Assist with sales meetings, and minutes for weekly meeting 
-    MD support: Translation and interpretation, absence and expense reports, communication with JP authorities and other administrative tasks
-    Sales Analysis / Reporting: Collecting sales data and preparing sales report for monthly/quarterly meetings

Experience and Skill Requirements

•    At least 5 year experience in HR 
•    Computer skills
•    University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Soft Skills / Other Requirements

•    Proactive, flexible and open minded team player
•    Good Communication Skills
•    Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to successfully function in matrix environments and across different geographies and cultures
•    Fluent in Japanese with business level English skills
•    Interest in food and or baking is a plus
