Job Description

This is a rare chance to lead the e-commerce and digital efforts for a leading European retail company with iconic brands. You will be reporting to the Country Manager, and be leading a team of 5 subordinates to develop and grow the company's online business and presence. This role is responsible for:
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate online marketing strategies to drive new customer acquisition for paid search, affiliate, advertising programs as well as providing reporting and analysis for online marketing programs. 
  • Maintain strong customer retention for brand, particularly through email marketing
  • Consistently creating, analysing, measuring, and optimising online marketing programs, including email, paid advertising, SEM and more
  • Collaborating with marketing team to develop key online marketing strategies
  • Aligning online channel branding and sales targets with overall business direction of the company. Grow online channel as part of multi-channel future
  • Improving current online distribution strategies plus collaborating with operations/marketing/sales teams to drive online business
  • Developing and managing key metrics and budgets and implementing coding schemes for tracking purposes
  • Creating and managing weekly and monthly reporting and tracking, flagging issues, and report metrics
  • Designing, implementing and managing permanently online marketing programs focusing on building awareness and customer acquisition plus activating existing customers
  • Developing the online channel promotions and action calendar on annual/seasonal basis
  • Working with Product Marketing and Marketing Communications on daily basis to develop and execute highly effective direct response programs to significantly increase inbound lead flow and pipeline generation.

  • Proposing and managing our pay-per-click campaigns, online media buys and budgets
  • Understanding, optimising and expanding keyword list
  • Analysing and reporting program performance; providing results and recommendations for improvement and new programs
  • Managing online retailers to enable them to deliver most up to date images and product information, as well as maintaining advertising policies and programs
  • Consistently testing programs to maximise impact of online marketing on revenue and profitability
  • Developing ad copies, landing pages, banner creative and other marketing collateral for online use
  • Staying up-to-date with industry related trends and technology. Providing support for other areas of marketing as needed
  • Maintaining familiarity with E-Commerce platforms and high-level understanding of their satellites (web servers, databases, ERPs, CRM, Payment Gateways, Anti-fraud, performance, etc.)
  • Using independent professional development background ability to technically deliver the functions and features the business requires
  • Enhancing the online store UI technically – focused mainly on developing content
  • Managing operational administration, cancellation, issue resolution, stock replenishment (safety stock for e-commerce), content management, order management, logistics involved with e-commerce, working closely with marketing and promotional calendar
  • Engaging different aspects of business to ensure online technical issues are completed
  • Managing and motivating a team of subordinates to achieve their full potential
Necessary skills
  • Business-level English and Japanese
  • Bachelors degree
  • 3+ years experience in e-commerce and/or online marketing
  • Experience with common e-commerce platforms and content management systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Database experience, web and mobile development including design and marketing
  • Experience with multi-device EDI manipulation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for innovative software and increasing customer engagement
  • Strong negotiating and analytical skills
