Job Description

   Seeking a C# Engineer to join our VR dev team full-time in Tokyo, Japan. The candidate will develop inside both our SDK and Application codebases, working in an agile team that includes other Engineers, Designers, and a Product Manager.

 

   This position requires basic C# best-practices such as OOP, diligence in code commenting and handing off work, logic decoupling via events, debugging, serialization etc. Specific knowledge in at least one of the following areas is required: network programming with the Photon plug-in; integration with 3rd-party web service via async network calls; motion-controller inputs; sockets-based programming; customizing the editor; optimization with the built-in profiler.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily execution of complex programming tasks
  • Attention to detail (naming conventions, clear and concise code comments)
  • Good teamwork skills and willingness to do pair-programming as needed
  • Support Quality Assurance (QA) functions as required
  • Other duties as assigned

 

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in engineering-related field (Computer Science preferred)
  • 3+ years of Unity development in C#
  • Understanding of Scrum / Kanban agile methodology and goals
  • Familiar with OOP concepts like encapsulation, inheritance, composition, interfaces
  • Experience with SCM tools (e.g. git, perforce, PlasticSCM)
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate in verbal and written English fluently
  • Personal organization skills

 

BONUS SKILLS

  • Ability to speak Japanese
  • VR / AR development experience or interest
  • Native Universal Windows Platform (UWP) development experience
  • Native Android development experience
  • Experience with the Shader Forge plug-in
  • Experience with platform-specific profiling tools (e.g. Visual Studios profiling tools for UWP, Oculus Perf HUD, etc.)
