Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join the sales team of a leading international homeware company, and develop your sales career. You will be reporting to the Head of Sales, and working within an energetic and motivated team with a competitive salary and bonus package.

This role is responsible for:
  • Account Planning and Customer Management:
    • Develop strategic plans for key customers that align with overall sales division strategies
    • Identify opportunities and associated risks, analyse situations and propose relevant actions
    • Execute plans related to distribution, merchandising, product placement, and pricing including contract negotiating contracts and various programs with customers
    • Lead a cross-functional account team towards achieving desired business results (marketing, trade marketing, finance, SCM, and senior management)
    • Seek consensus and approval from internal stakeholders for proposed plans, negotiate with accounts to achieve company's optimum position
    • Seek out decision makers and influencers, create positive working relationships across all levels of business
  • Customer P&L Management
    • ​​​​​​​Be responsible for customer P&L (NSV and GP), especially focusing on rebate control
    • Manage funds and resources for best return on investment, analyse data and implement high quality solutions and actions to drive business with customers
    • Monitor retail sales and inventories, assess risks and opportunities, communicate and implement best profit and high customer satisfaction solutions
    • Ensure accurate submission of customer specification and promotional contracts
  • Sales Forecast Accuracy
    • ​​​​​​​Build and submit accurate sales forecasts including basic, promotional, display volume returns, and markdown expenses
    • Conduct monthly meetings to the gap reason in all aspects with marketing, trade marketing teams and GM support
  • Others
    • ​​​​​​​Develop new customers and business channels
    • Provide accurate and timely market, trade and competitive information to the related department
Necessary Skills:
  • Native Japanese / (business English is a plus)
  • Bachelors degree
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to create and manage an account specific selling story using syndicated data and POS
  • Business minded
