The Position

The person will be in charge of payroll functions as part of the HR operations for Japan. Actual payroll administration is outsourced to local vendors and as such the Payroll Specialist understands the HR information system and through internal communication and coordination to collect, validate and analyze payroll related information. The expectation is to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing is being done in support of the Japan business.

 Main Responsibilities

• Collect and manage various payroll data and make accurate processing requests to vendors

• Check attendance data and follow up with employees to ensure the accuracy of payroll

• Check and modify the data delivered by the payroll vendor to ensure the accuracy of the salary.

• Submit accounting documents pertaining to payroll to accounting

• Respond to inquiries, solve problems, and provide advice from employees and payroll vendors pertaining to personnel systems

• Project support for changes in personnel systems


• More than 3 years of payroll processes experience (Understanding the personnel process of payroll information management and the handling of payroll operations required by the personnel system)

• Knowledge and experience in handling expatriate payroll is a plus.

• Ability to communicate in English

• Excel skills such as using functions (Vlookup) and Pivot Table
