The Merchandiser will be responsible for the Demand Forecasting and Merchandising activities in order to drive the Company’s business in the short to mid-term. The position will be involved in planning, strategic and operational activities through Demand Planning as well as Merchandising activities.
i. Demand and Supply Planning (accounting for 40%)
a. Deliver the monthly sales forecast at the reference level in a realistic projection and adjust accordingly in collaboration with the Marketing / Sales Channel’s strategy to achieve the sales network and company revenue for the rolling 12M.
b. Negotiate with HQ (Switzerland and/or France) in order to maintain the ideal stock level at all times including New Product Launches and work closely with related Departments.
c. As the Key and Main contact with the HQ Operational Teams, work on the New Product Launch planning from the Demand Planning side with the Commercial Teams and Marketing.
d. Stock allocation between the Commercial Networks depending on the category.
ii. Merchandising (accounting for 30%)
a. Define and manage the reference level product assortment for the Japan Region and the 32 Boutiques.
b. With deep understanding of the Replenishment model at Cartier, plan and maintain the model stock and the seasonal stock increases / decreases accordingly to the needs and annual events.
c. Handle the Fair assortment planning and coordination with related Departments. Define the Product Package and lineup for the Fairs and Gaihan activities.
d. Ensure the level of Stock for total Japan, as well as the BTQ level stock vs the target in coordination with the Store Planning Team.
iii. Reporting and Analysis (20%)
a. Weekly, Monthly Analysis on the sales trend in order to align / update the forecast accordingly. Create or update sales, stock, assortment related reports for analysis.
iv. Zonings and Layouts (10%)
a. In case of New BTQ openings and renewals, work closely with the Central Merchandising Teams and Local Retail Teams in order to define the zoning / layout and product mix.
b. Understand customer’s view and behaviors in the BTQ’s and define zonings and layouts in line with the company strategy.
c. Work closely with Visual Merchandising and Store Planners upon the execution of the zoning / layout plan. (both tentative and seasonal)
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 3 years of Demand or Supply Planning Experience
- Business level English (French speaker is a plus)
- Strong analytical skills and a self-starter
- Ideally an experience within the FMCG industry with high SKU’s
- ERP experience, SAP experience is a plus
1. This position will have an assistant in a couple of months. Management abilities will be needed.
