The Role and Accountabilities:

The person is responsible for the design, deployment and maintenance of critical internal network infrastructure. This role would require someone who can work in a fast paced, high-impact environment as a visible contributor delivering on our commitments. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver, comfortable with providing subject matter expertise and rapidly responding and resolving escalated issues – major incidents, P1 and P2.

Responsible for Production network support and provide tier 2-3 diagnosis and advanced troubleshooting

  • Produce detailed designs and cost estimates for network solutions, adhering to best practice architecture standards
  • Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization
  • Perform short-term and long-term network capacity planning
  • Develop and document network operations and monitoring processes and procedures.
  • Implement network security a per the company policy and interface with Security teams
  • Research and test new network technologies with aims to fulfil current and future Company needs

What you will need to succeed:

  • Minimum 6 + years working in complex IP network environment
  • Expertise with protocols including but not limited to TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF
  • Configuring/troubleshooting LAN switching – VLAN, VTP, STP, EtherChannel, QoS
  • Strong functional knowledge of TCP/IP required
  • Good understanding of high availability fundamentals (HSRP and VRRP)
  • Proven proficiency and product knowledge of network devices
  • Experience in Cisco and Juniper products is mandatory
  • Strong analytical, design, engineering, planning and problem solving skills, structured problem approach
  • Relevant experience with network management tools and utilities
  • Experience and clear understanding in Packet Capture tools
  • Experience with network automation/scripting is desirable
  • Experience in network security skills is a plus
  • CCNA, CCNP certification is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal communication and reporting skills
  • Process oriented mind-set with attention to details
  • Should be a team player and also have the ability to work with members of other departments
