Job Description:

Head of Airfreight is responsible for building, leading and streamlining the Airfreight Team, the job involves improving and controlling the operational procedures, process mapping, negotiating rates, and maintaining customer relations.


Key Responsibilities:


* Develop/maintain Airfreight business for domestic and international clients * Meet with middle/senior logistics executives in client organizations to scope out and understand needs for warehouse projects and other service sales opportunities

* Lead and motivate teams to achieve departmental goals and carry out staff performance reviews

* Provide training and coaching to team members by ensuring employees are working in their assigned areas to provide adequate coverage for all processes which may include task delegations and follow up

* Review claims resulting from missing or damaged cargo

* Maintain professional and proactive communication with all department staff, internal and external customers

* Provides advice on maintaining and improving cost effective ways to handle airfreight, and make the job more efficiently

* Achieve monthly annual sales revenue targets * Assess and coordinate internal and external resources to provide feasible and sustainable services to clients

* Negotiate contracts with airlines and shipping partners

* Attend trade shows and seminars, networking meeting to promote the company brand and services

* Coordinate with sales team and dedicate more time to ensure the client satisfaction

* Oversee the air department to ensure that all aspects of cargo transport from booking, pick-up, file creation, customer service and invoicing are performed as per company standards

* Ensure maintain high levels of customer service, maintain integrity in the operation and effect a smooth running department

*Strategy and planning - including the development of operational strategies based on financial budgets


Requirements/Qualifications:


* Minimum 5 years of previous experience in similar positions is required

* Strong customer service skills and detail oriented

* Excellent Japanese communication skills both verbal and written

* English as second language is required to communicate with management and network

* Computer skills: Microsoft office, email, internet explorer, etc. and ability to learn proprietary business software applications

* Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, organize and prioritize work load in order to meet numerous deadlines

* Positive attitude, friendly, outgoing personality

* Willingness to learn and ask questions
