Working under the leadership of the Senior Director of Performance Life Style Group, and in partnership with the regional and global merchandising/buying team, the Merchandising manager is responsible for the execution of Brand Strategy in line with Global, the facilitation of maximizing sales, profits and brand equity through effective coordination of the logistics, operations, and marketing of the Performance Life Style Group(=PLG) brands for all distribution channels, including Wholesale, e-Commerce (and Retail) in Japan. Key areas for influence include formulating buying strategy and product mix for each season, ordering, stock allocation and merchandise reordering management to ensure the achievement of business objectives of the company.

-Bachelors Degree
-10+ years of merchandising experience on fashion industry, ideally experienced in footwear with knowledge of brands and 3yrs of management experience.
-Strategic planning experience in terms of merchandising, buying and liquidation both for
short-term and mid-term.( 3-5yrs) to enhance the Brand equity and in line with Global Brand concept.
-Demonstrable success of wholesale (retail)/sales operations coordination and experienced inventory control.
-High regard and attention for detail, accuracy and displays analytical and numeracy skills
-Excellent planning, organizing and problem solving skills with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and solutions.
-Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and a talent for building relationships with internal and external partners.
-Current insight and knowledge of product trends and aware of consumer buying behavior.
-Knowledge of costing, product safety requirements, packaging, QA and compliance.
-Willing to adapt and take on new challenges and to continually improve operations efficiency.
-Excellent verbal and written business communication in English.
-Proficient in Microsoft Applications with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
-Able to expertly work with IT systems such as Oracle and Retail Pro (and the company International Order Entry, IOE and Almanac).
-Travel within Japan and to the regional office in Hong Kong, and to the USA.
