Job Description

Our client is a leader in training across the world. In Japan, they are leaders in the automotive industry with consultants at the major manufactures and a trusted name throughout the world.

We are searching for a manager to lead a team of trainers responsible for one-off product and sales training. Performance is measured against the following objectives

  • Customer satisfaction with projects delivered
  • Delivery to quality, cost and timing targets
  • Budgeted revenue and gross profit achievement
  • Trainer utilisation


  • Daily management of the team
  • Develops an annual plan and budget
  • Provides account management for regular customers
  • Develops solutions to customer requests. Estimates costs and develops quotations for proposed solutions
  • Applies global innovations to customer solutions
  • Personally delivers training and consulting when appropriate
  • Monitors and assists trainers in the development of training material
  • Observes trainers and monitors training feedback to ensure quality of delivery
  • Coaches trainers for improvement, and administers Instructor Certification Program
  • Develops and maintains a forward-looking trainer schedule and balances trainer workload
  • Keeps Management informed by submitting training reports, training calendar, training satisfaction survey results and utilisation reports
  • Use company tools such as BD Pipeline and WorkFront to manage work and collaborate


Candidates require a strong automotive training background. Ideally, they have experience both as a trainer and as a training manager. The experience could be acquired in either a training agency or an OEM.

Candidates should ideally be well versed in the automotive industry, with an in-depth understanding of the Sales division of dealerships.

    • proven ability to deliver results on time, to customer quality standards, within budget
  • Focused on meeting customer needs and implementing simple quality standards
  • Experience in trainer assessment and coaching
  • Leadership presence and interpersonal skills to manage and command the respect of a diverse employee group
  • Bi-lingual / bi-cultural
  • Interpersonal skills and presence to communicate and influence across levels in client organisations
  • Sound basic levels of numeracy, accuracy and financial acumen
