Key Responsibilities
- Development and design of compensation packages and policies aligned with the organization's strategy
- Assessment of the employees' needs by means of different elevation methods and techniques
- Creation and improvement of salary, benefit and bonus systems
- Alignment of all compensation systems to general conditions on the labor market as well as on legal regulations
- Support of managers in their decisions about compensation packages and ways to motivate employees
- Preparation of regular audits and reports for information storage reasons
- Oversee employee paychecks
- Work closely with HR vender and check/calculate net salaries considering deductions and withholdings
- Follow the global payroll approval process (headcount & input versus output reconciliation, funding request and GHAMEA and GH Inc mapping review, Gross to net variance analysis)
- Ensure payroll and tax documents are accurate
- Update monthly journal entries and payroll files
- Update quarterly accrued bonus and PTO file
- Prepare accounting files, records, and schedules as necessary
- Monitor paid and unpaid leaves
- Process overtime earnings or holiday deductions
- Updating payroll systems, including employment hires and terminations.
- Manage onboarding/offboarding activities including orientation arrangement.
- Resolve payroll problems (e.g. overlooked bank holidays, late payments, etc.)
- Participate in payroll audits
- Ensure compliance with governmental laws on payroll accounting and taxes
- Support People Head as necessary
Ideal Experiences
- Practical experience in the field of compensations and benefits advantageous
- Good analytical skills and, at best, experience with quantitative data collection
- Previous experience as a payroll accountant or in a similar role
- Understanding of local and governmental rules about payroll
- Strong organizational, negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite
- Business level English skills
